Dahlan angry with Jasa Marga after three months of reprimands
The Jakarta Post, Jakarta | Tue, 03/20/2012 9:42 PM

State Owned Enterprises Minister Dahlan Iskan said Tuesday he was furious with state toll road operator PT Jasa Marga top management because they had failed to improve services even though their company has been reprimanded for three months.
"Everytime I was about to enter a toll gate with long queues, I always sent short messages to the directors of Jasa Marga. But, they did not do anything to fix it," Dahlan said in a statement to The Jakarta Post on Tuesday. Before the Tuesday morning incident when Dahlan took command of the Semanggi toll gate, he said that the same thing happened last Saturday when he went to the Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB).
He said that he sent text messages to Jasa Marga directors after seeing very long queues at the Kalimalang 2 toll gate. "I will never stop reminding them [directors] because public services have to be good. If they could only serve people who pay for service, how could they serve people who do not have enough money?"
Through his email, he also said that he was disappointed with the sales of electronic toll road card that aims to ease traffic jams. He said that Jasa Marga had to find a more creative way to promote the e-card. In addition, he said that he went to China for a week to have his liver examined. "I have not checked it for eight months because I feel healthy, but my doctors said I had to have it examined," he said. (nfo)
